ANA MAR GIL URNICIA

BIOGRAPHY

Ana Mar was born in the city of Tudela, Navarra, where at an early age she discovered her passion for drawing and painting.

Already as a little girl, her parents and teachers were privy of her amazing aptitudes, showing great creativity whenever she was around pencils, crayons or oil paint.

Leaving her calling aside, she devoted herself to studying Medicine and working as a doctor for many years. However her artistic nature finally would lead to her restarting her pictorial career in 2005.

After picking up on emotional inspiration and technique from exceptional artist of the likes of Velazquez, Pinazo and the incomparable Sorolla, she wanted to lear first hand from great painters such as Eduardo Peña and Guillermo Muñoz Vera, going them in their studios for personal lessons.

It was here, where Ana Mar found the methodology, naturalism and realism she constantly strives for, thoroughly impregnating her art.

Passionate for nature and costumbrismo, this artist work offers a unique light and atmosphere where the painter finds her most precious and intimate refuge.
